Ardmore is a special place for Blake Bush. He grew up here, and always knew this was where he wanted to build an eye care practice.

He understands that quality health care is important for every community, regardless of size.

Opening Blake Bush Family Eye Care in 2012 allowed Dr. Bush to offer Ardmore and surrounding communities the highest quality, modern eye care without the need to drive long distances.

"So much of what we experience in life is visual and when vision suffers, it has a dramatic impact on quality of life." Said Dr. Bush.

"All too often I see new patients who were unaware they were struggling to see clearly. The look on their face when they can suddenly recognize the leaves on trees always brings a smile to my face" he added.

Dr. Bush has invested in state-of-the-art medical equipment to allow him to provide the most comprehensive and modern eye exams. Patients often tell Dr. Bush they had never seen the inside of their eye before and they are fascinated by it.

Many eye and vision problems have no obvious signs or symptoms. Early diagnosis and treatment of eye and vision problems are important for maintaining optimal vision and eye health, and to prevent or minimize vision loss.

PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE

Blake Bush is originally from Ardmore, graduating from Plainview High School in 2000. He then attended Oklahoma State University, finishing in 2004 with a bachelor's degree in Zoology. From there he attended Southern College of Optometry in Memphis, Tennessee where he received his Doctorate of Optometry degree in May 2008.

Dr. Bush and his wife, Emily, moved to Tulsa, Oklahoma in June 2008. For four years, he worked in various clinical settings ranging in focus from pediatrics, geriatrics, disease-management, refractive surgery, and whole-family primary eye care. This experience has been useful in honing clinical skills and developing a course for Blake Bush Family Eye Care to provide world class eye and vision care.

Dr. Bush is a member of the American Optometric Association and the Oklahoma Association of Optometric Physicians.

GIVING BACK TO ARDMORE

Dr. Bush has served the community taking leadership positions with various organizations including:

Leadership Ardmore
City of Ardmore Planning Commission

As his practice grew, Dr. Bush chose to preserve a part of Ardmore history by acquiring and remodeling a historic building in downtown Ardmore. The new office blends both modern design while preserving historic charm and character.

At one time the building was home to a hardware store. Look closely at the wooden floors and you can see evenly spaced nails that were used to measure lengths of rope.

FAMILY LIFE

Dr. Bush enjoys spending time with his wife, Emily, and their two daughters, Ellie and Kate.

As a family they enjoy traveling as often as possible. Whether it’s just to Lake Murray for the afternoon or a longer excursion to the Rockies, they are frequently on the move.

If they are not traveling, the Bush family is almost always at one of the kids’ activities; Ellie plays softball and tennis and Kate does tumbling and gymnastics.
